At Franklin State Bank (FSB), our mission is to meet the desires of our customers. As financial professionals entrusted with sensitive financial information, we respect the privacy of our customers and are committed to treating customer information responsibly. The Franklin State Bank is implementing this privacy policy because a fundamental component of the bank/customer relationship is a customer's trust in this institution and because we respect the expectations of our customers regarding privacy and confidentiality. Protecting our customer's privacy is at the core of our business.
COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION
The Bank collects, retains and uses information about customers only when it is useful and lawful for our standard business purposes. Our "business" referred to in the preceding sentence includes opening and maintaining accounts or loans and providing additional financial products or services.
RESTRICTIONS OF ACCOUNT INFORMATION DISCLOSURE
We do not share our current or previous consumer or customers' nonpublic personal information with affiliates or with nonaffiliated third parties except as permitted or required by law. When the Bank conducts business with third parties, its vendors and suppliers are required to follow the same privacy standards as established by the Bank.
EXCEPTIONS
The privacy rules include logical exceptions from the disclosure and opt out requirements when sharing information in connection with products or services requested by you, the customer. We may share information in the following instances without providing an opportunity to opt out.
- Processing a transaction at the consumers request.
- Disclosing information with the consumers consent
- Disclosures necessary to protect the confidentiality or security of the bank or to prevent fraud or unauthorized transactions.
- Disclosures made to persons acting in a fiduciary or representative capacity on behalf of the consumer
- Disclosures made to insurance rate advisory organizations and bank rating agencies
- Disclosures to the bank's accountants, attorneys or auditors
- Disclosures to agencies under the Federal Right to Financial Privacy Act, disclosures to bank examiners and disclosures permitted or required under Bank Secrecy Act
- Disclosures to consumer reporting agencies
- Disclosures in connection with a sale or merger of the bank
- Other disclosures to comply with federal, state, or local laws or rules
SECURITY OF INFORMATION
The Franklin State Bank has established safeguards and procedures to maintain the security of your account information and restrict unauthorized access. The access of individual account information is limited to employees which have been assigned passwords for the purpose of performing their jobs. Employees are trained to access only information which is required.
CUSTOMER ACCESS AND QUESTIONS
All Bank customers are able to verify that the information which we use is correct. As a customer, you are able to request this information by contacting us at the address or phone number listed below. If there are questions or complaints related to information provided or our privacy policy they should be made in writing to the attention of Scott Nissen, President at the address listed below. All questions or complaints will be responded to with in 10 business days of our receiving them.
